The companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ were discussing Laylat al-Qadr.Ubayy said, "By the One besides whom there is no god, I know which night it is. It is the night that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ informed us about, the night when twenty-seven nights of Ramadan have passed. The sign of it is that the sun rises the following morning shimmering, without rays."Salama bin Kuhayl claimed that Zirr informed him that he watched for it for three years, from the first day Ramadan began until its end, and he saw the sun rise on the morning of the twenty-seventh shimmering, without rays.
حدثنا مصعب بن سلام حدثنا الأجلح عن الشعبي عن زر بن حبيش
تذاكر أصحاب رسول الله ﷺ ليلة القدر فقال أبي أنا والذي لا إله غيره أعلم أي ليلة هي هي الليلة التي أخبرنا بها رسول الله ﷺ ليلة سبع وعشرين تمضي من رمضان وآية ذلك أن الشمس تصبح الغد من تلك الليلة ترقرق ليس لها شعاع فزعم سلمة بن كهيل أن زرا أخبره أنه رصدها ثلاث سنين من أول يوم يدخل رمضان إلى آخره فرآها تطلع صبيحة سبع وعشرين ترقرق ليس لها شعاع
