The Prophet ﷺ said regarding the boy whom Khidr killed that he was created a disbeliever by nature. Abu Rabi added in his version, "Had he reached maturity, he would have overwhelmed his parents with rebellion and disbelief."

عن النبي ﷺ الغلام الذي قتله الخضر طبع كافرا زاد أبو الربيع في حديثه ولو أدرك لأرهق أبويه طغيانا وكفرا
Its isnad is sahih. Abu Rabi Atiki, Sulayman bin Dawud Zahrani Basri, is thiqah and a shaykh of Abu Dawud and Nasai. Raqabah is Ibn Miqsalah Abdi, thiqah and virtuous, whose hadith appears in the Sahihayn.The hadith was narrated by Tirmidhi (5/312, no. 3150) in the tafsir of Surah Kahf, where he said, hasan sahih gharib, and by Abu Dawud (4/227, no. 4705) in the Sunnah, on Divine Decree, and the hadith is among the additions.
