The Prophet ﷺ used to sit between the two sermons and recite verses from the Quran. His prayer was moderate in length, and his sermon was moderate in length.

أن النبي ﷺ كان يجلس بين الخطبتين ويتلو آيات من القرآن وكانت صلاته قصدا وخطبته قصدا
