Abu Kamil told us that Simak reported from Jabir bin Samura that a man was living at al-Harra with his family and children. Another man said to him, "I have lost a she-camel of mine. If you find her, hold on to her for me." He found her, but she fell sick. His wife said to him, "Slaughter her."He refused, and so she died. His wife then said to him, "Cut her flesh into strips so we may eat from her meat and fat."He said, "Not until I consult the Prophet ﷺ."So he came to him and told him what had happened. The Prophet ﷺ asked him, "Do you have wealth that suffices you?"He replied, "No."The Prophet ﷺ said, "Then eat from it."Later, its owner came, and the man told him what had happened. The owner said, "Why didn't you slaughter her?"He replied, "I was too embarrassed before you to do so."
