If anyone tells you that he ever saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ delivering the sermon while seated, do not believe him. I saw him more than a hundred times, and I saw him delivering the sermon standing. Then he would sit down without saying anything, then stand up again and deliver his second sermon.I asked, "What was his sermon like?"He replied, "It was moderate, words by which he admonished the people and recited verses from the Book of Allah the Exalted."

من حدثك أنه رأى رسول الله ﷺ يخطب قاعدا قط فلا تصدقه قد رأيته أكثر من مائة مرة فرأيته يخطب قائما ثم يجلس فلا يتكلم بشيء ثم يقوم فيخطب خطبته الأخرى قلت كيف كانت خطبته قال كانت قصدا كلاما يعظ به الناس ويقرأ آيات من كتاب الله تعالى
