A man was with his father in al-Harrah when another man said to him, "A she-camel of mine has gone missing. If you find her, hold on to her."The man found her, but her owner did not come, and eventually the camel fell ill. His wife said to him, "Slaughter her so we can eat her." He refused, until she died on her own. Then his wife said, "Skin her so we can dry her meat and fat into strips."He said, "Not until I ask the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."So he asked him, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do you have anything else that makes you not need her?"He replied, "No."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Then eat her."Later the owner came, and he said to him, "Why didn't you slaughter her?"He answered, "I felt too ashamed before you."

أن رجلا كان مع والده بالحرة فقال له رجل إن ناقة لي ذهبت فإن أصبتها فأمسكها فوجدها الرجل فلم يجئ صاحبها حتى مرضت فقالت له امرأته انحرها حتى نأكلها فلم يفعل حتى نفقت فقالت امرأته اسلخها حتى نقدد لحمها وشحمها قال حتى أسأل رسول الله ﷺ فسأله فقال هل عندك شيء يغنيك عنها قال لا قال كلها فجاء صاحبها بعد ذلك فقال له هلا نحرتها قال استحييت منك
