The Prophet ﷺ used to sit between the two sermons on Friday and deliver the sermon standing. His prayer was moderate in length and his sermon was moderate in length, and he would recite verses from the Quran on the pulpit.
حدثنا عبد الرزاق أخبرنا سفيان عن سماك بن حرب قال سمعت
كان النبي ﷺ يجلس بين الخطبتين يوم الجمعة ويخطب قائما وكانت صلاته قصدا وخطبته قصدا ويقرأ آيات من القرآن على المنبر
