I never saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ deliver the Friday sermon except while standing. So if anyone tells you that he sat down during it, call him a liar, for he never did that. The Prophet ﷺ would deliver a sermon, then sit down, then stand and deliver another sermon. He used to give two sermons on Friday, sitting briefly between them.
حدثنا أبو سعيد حدثنا زائدة حدثنا سماك
ما رأيت رسول الله ﷺ قط يخطب في الجمعة إلا قائما فمن حدثك أنه جلس فكذبه فإنه لم يفعل كان النبي ﷺ يخطب ثم يقعد ثم يقوم فيخطب كان يخطب خطبتين يقعد بينهما في الجمعة
