I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say during the Farewell Pilgrimage, "This religion will continue to prevail over those who oppose it. No one who differs with it or breaks away from it will harm it, until twelve rulers from my nation have passed, all of them from Quraysh."Then part of the Messenger of Allah's ﷺ words became unclear to me. My father was closer to the Messenger of Allah's ﷺ mount than I was, so I asked him, "Father, what was it that I missed from the words of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?"He replied, "He said, 'All of them from Quraysh.'"I bear witness to what my father conveyed to me, that he said, "All of them from Quraysh."
حدثنا ابن نمير حدثنا مجالد عن عامر
سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول في حجة الوداع لا يزال هذا الدين ظاهرا على من ناوأه لا يضره مخالف ولا مفارق حتى يمضي من أمتي اثنا عشر أميرا كلهم من قريش قال ثم خفي علي قول رسول الله ﷺ قال وكان أبي أقرب إلى راحلة رسول الله ﷺ مني فقلت يا أبتاه ما الذي خفي علي من قول رسول الله ﷺ قال يقول كلهم من قريش قال فأشهد على إفهام أبي إياي قال كلهم من قريش
