When this verse was revealed, "who pledge allegiance to you that they will not associate anything with Allah," up to His words, "and not disobey you in what is right" [Mumtahanah 60:12], she said that wailing for the dead was among the things included.She said, "I asked, 'Messenger of Allah, except for the family of so-and-so, for they had supported me in mourning during the days of ignorance, so I must support them in return.'"She said, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said, "Except for the family of so-and-so."
حدثنا أبو معاوية حدثنا عاصم عن حفصة
لما نزلت هذه الآية {يبايعنك على أن لا يشركن بالله شيئا} إلى قوله {ولا يعصينك في معروف} قالت كان منه النياحة فقلت يا رسول الله إلا آل فلان فإنهم قد كانوا أسعدوني في الجاهلية فلا بد لي من أن أسعدهم قالت فقال رسول الله ﷺ إلا آل فلان
