Two hadith have reached me from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ which I know to be true, though I do not know which one came before the other.Abu Muslim al-Jadhami, of the clan of Jadhima of Abdul-Qays, narrated to us, saying, Jarud reported, "While we were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on one of his journeys, riding-mounts were scarce. The people began discussing the shortage of mounts, so I said, 'Messenger of Allah, I know of something that would supply us with mounts.'He asked, 'And what would supply us?'I said, 'A herd of camels we could come upon at the edge of a valley and make use of their backs.'He said, 'No. The stray animal of a Muslim is fuel for the Fire, so do not go near it. The stray animal of a Muslim is fuel for the Fire, so do not go near it. The stray animal of a Muslim is fuel for the Fire, so do not go near it.'"And he said concerning a lost item that one finds, "Announce it publicly, do not conceal it, and do not hide it away. If its owner is found, hand it over. Otherwise, it is wealth from Allah which He gives to whomever He wills."
حدثنا إسماعيل أخبرنا سعيد الجريري عن أبي العلاء بن الشخير
حديثان بلغاني عن رسول الله ﷺ قد عرفت أني قد صدقتهما لا أدري أيهما قبل صاحبه حدثنا أبو مسلم الجذمي جذيمة عبد القيس حدثنا الجارود قال بينما نحن مع رسول الله ﷺ في بعض أسفاره وفي الظهر قلة إذ تذاكر القوم الظهر فقلت يا رسول الله قد علمت ما يكفينا من الظهر فقال وما يكفينا قلت ذود نأتي عليهن في جرف فنستمتع بظهورهم قال لا ضالة المسلم حرق النار فلا تقربنها ضالة المسلم حرق النار فلا تقربنها ضالة المسلم حرق النار فلا تقربنها وقال في اللقطة الضالة تجدها فانشدنها ولا تكتم ولا تغيب فإن عرفت فأدها وإلا فمال الله يؤتيه من يشاء
