Yazid bin Abdullah reported,

We were sitting at the Mirbad when a man from the desert people came up to us. When we saw him, we said, "This man looks as though he is not from the townspeople."He replied, "Indeed, I am not."He had with him a document on a piece of leather, or perhaps it was said, on a piece of a leather pouch. He said, "This is a document the Messenger of Allah ﷺ wrote for me."It read, "In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. This is a document from Muhammad the Prophet, Messenger of Allah ﷺ, to the descendants of Zuhayr bin Uqaysh, a clan of Ukl. If you establish the prayer, pay the zakat, separate yourselves from the polytheists, and hand over a fifth of the war spoils along with the Prophet's ﷺ share and the choice portion," or perhaps he said, "and his choice portion, then you are under the protection of Allah and the protection of His Messenger."Then he mentioned, meaning the hadith of al-Jareeri.

حدثنا روح بن عبادة حدثنا قرة بن خالد قال سمعت

يزيد بن عبد الله بن الشخير قال

كنا بالمربد جلوسا فأتى علينا رجل من أهل البادية لما رأيناه قلنا هذا كأن رجل ليس من أهل البلد قال أجل فإذا معه كتاب في قطعة أديم قال وربما قال في قطعة جراب فقال هذا كتاب كتبه لي رسول الله ﷺ فإذا فيه بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم هذا كتاب من محمد النبي رسول الله ﷺ لبني زهير بن أقيش وهم حي من عكل إنكم إن أقمتم الصلاة وآتيتم الزكاة وفارقتم المشركين وأعطيتم الخمس من المغنم ثم سهم النبي ﷺ والصفي وربما قال وصفيه فأنتم آمنون بأمان الله تبارك وتعالى وأمان رسوله فذكر يعني حديث الجريرى
