Aaiz bin Amr reported,

While we were with our Prophet ﷺ, an Arabi came and persistently begged from him, saying, "Messenger of Allah, feed me. Messenger of Allah, give to me."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood up, entered his house, then came back and took hold of the two doorposts of the room. Turning his face toward us, he said, "By the One in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, if you knew what I know about begging, no man would ask another for anything as long as he had enough to last him through the night."Then he ordered that the man be given food.
