Qabisa bin Mukhariq reported,

Qabisa said, I took on a financial responsibility on behalf of others, so I came to the Prophet ﷺ and asked him for help with it.He said, "Stay until the charity comes to us, then we will either pay it on your behalf or assist you with it."Then he said, "Begging is not lawful except for three. A man who has taken on a financial responsibility for a group of people. He may beg until he settles it, then he must stop. A man struck by a calamity that has destroyed his wealth. He may beg until he secures enough to sustain himself, or enough to get by, then he must stop. And a man afflicted by severe poverty, attested to by three sensible men of his people who say, 'So-and-so has been struck by poverty.' He may beg until he secures enough to sustain himself, or enough to get by, then he must stop. Anything beyond that, Qabisa, is unlawful gain, and the one who takes it consumes what is forbidden."
