Ibn Mughafal reported,

He saw a man from among his companions flicking pebbles between his fingers and said, "Do not flick pebbles, for the Prophet of Allah ﷺ disliked it." Or he said, "He forbade it." Kahmas was the one saying this. "For it does not wound an enemy, nor does it bring down game, but it puts out an eye and breaks a tooth."Then he saw him doing it again afterward, so he said, "I tell you that the Prophet of Allah ﷺ forbade flicking pebbles," or "disliked it," "and then I see you doing it. I will not speak a word to you for such and such a time."
