A relative of Abdullah bin Mughafal was throwing pebbles between his fingers, so he forbade him from doing so and said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited this kind of pebble-throwing and said that it does not catch game nor wound an enemy, but it can break a tooth and put out an eye."Then the man went back to doing it again, so Abdullah said, "I told you that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade it, yet you went back to doing it. I will never speak to you again."

أن قريبا لعبد الله بن مغفل خذف فنهاه وقال إن رسول الله ﷺ نهى عن الخذف وقال إنها لا تصيد صيدا ولا تنكأ عدوا ولكنها تكسر السن وتفقأ العين قال فعاد فقال حدثتك أن رسول الله ﷺ نهى عنها ثم عدت لا أكلمك أبدا
