He passed by his father while he was supplicating and saying, "Allah, I seek refuge in You from disbelief, poverty, and the punishment of the grave."He said, "I learned them from him and would supplicate with them after every prayer. Then he passed by me while I was reciting them and asked, 'My son, how did you come to know these words?'"I replied, "Father, I heard you supplicating with them after every prayer, so I learned them from you."He said, "Hold fast to them, my son, for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to supplicate with them after every prayer."
حدثنا روح حدثنا عثمان الشحام حدثني
أنه مر بوالده وهو يدعو ويقول اللهم إني أعوذ بك من الكفر والفقر وعذاب القبر قال فأخذتهن عنه وكنت أدعو بهن في دبر كل صلاة قال فمر بي وأنا أدعو بهن فقال يا بني أنى عقلت هؤلاء الكلمات قال يا أبتاه سمعتك تدعو بهن في دبر كل صلاة فأخذتهن عنك قال فالزمهن يا بني فإن رسول الله ﷺ كان يدعو بهن في دبر كل صلاة
