I went out in the funeral procession of Abdul-Rahman bin Samura. Some men from his family began coming toward the bier and walking backwards in front of it, saying, "Slow down, may Allah bless you."Then Abu Bakra caught up with us from the road of Mirbad. When he saw what those men were doing, he charged at them on his mule and lashed out at them with his whip, saying, "Move aside! By the One who has honored the face of Abu Qasim ﷺ, I saw us in the company of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and we would almost jog while carrying it."Yahya once said, "I saw us with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."

حدثنا يحيى بن سعيد

عن عيينة حدثنا أبي قال

خرجت في جنازة عبد الرحمن بن سمرة قال فجعل رجال من أهله يستقبلون الجنازة فيمشون على أعقابهم ويقولون رويدا بارك الله فيكم قال فلحقنا أبو بكرة من طريق المربد فلما رأى أولئك وما يصنعون حمل عليهم ببغلته وأهوى لهم بالسوط وقال خلوا فوالذي كرم وجه أبي القاسم ﷺ لقد رأيتنا مع رسول الله ﷺ وإنا لنكاد أن نرمل بها وقال يحيى مرة لقد رأيتنا مع رسول الله ﷺ
