Abu Hasan, the freed slave of Abu Nawfal, reported that he sought a legal opinion from Ibn Abbas regarding a male slave who was married to a female slave. The man had divorced her with two pronouncements of divorce, and afterward both were freed. Could he propose marriage to her again?Ibn Abbas replied, "Yes. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ruled with this judgment."
حدثنا يحيى عن علي بن المبارك قال حدثني يحيى بن أبي كثير أن
أن أبا حسن مولى أبي نوفل أخبره أنه استفتى ابن عباس في مملوك تحته مملوكة فطلقها تطليقتين ثم عتقا هل يصلح له أن يخطبها قال نعم قضى بذلك رسول الله ﷺ
