He witnessed the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the day of Hudaybiyyah while he himself was holding up with his hand a branch from the tree above the head of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, who was receiving the people's pledge. They pledged to him that they would not flee, and on that day they numbered one thousand four hundred.

Its isnad is sahih. Khalid is Hazza, and Hakam bin Abdullah bin Ishaq Ajrad is trustworthy, his hadith being recorded by Muslim, and Ahmad affirmed his trustworthiness. The hadith is found in Muslim, 3/1485, no. 1858, in the book of leadership, on the recommendation of the army pledging allegiance to the leader.
