He granted them permission, and they said, "Narrate to us."He said, "Ask."They said, "We have nothing in particular to ask you about."Then his daughter said from behind the curtain, "Ask him about the hadith of Arfaja bin Asaad, whose nose was struck off on the day of al-Kilab."

رأيت المغيرة بن عبد الله قد شد أسنانه بالذهب فذكر مثل ذلك لإبراهيم فقال لا بأس به حدثنا عبد الله أبو عبد الرحمن قال سمعت أبي يقول جاء قوم من أصحاب الحديث فاستأذنوا على أبي الأشهب فأذن لهم فقالوا حدثنا قال سلوا فقالوا ما معنا شيء نسألك عنه فقالت ابنته من وراء الستر سلوه عن حديث عرفجة بن أسعد أصيب أنفه يوم الكلاب
