We were with the Prophet ﷺ at a funeral when he asked, "Is there anyone here from the tribe of so-and-so?" He said this three times. A man then stood up.The Prophet ﷺ said to him, "What kept you from answering me the first two times? I only called out to you for something good. So-and-so, a man from your tribe, has died, and he is being held back by his debt."The narrator said, "I saw his family and those who grieved for him pay off his debt on his behalf, until no one came demanding anything from him."
