Abdullah bin Abbas reported,
When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had finished with Badr, it was said to him, "The caravan is yours for the taking, with nothing standing in your way."Then Abbas bin Abdul-Muttalib called out to him, "It is not proper for you."The Prophet ﷺ asked, "Why not?"He replied, "Because Allah 
only promised you one of the two parties, and He has already granted you what He promised."

Sahihحدثنا يحيى بن أبي بكير حدثنا إسرائيل عن سماك بن حرب عن عكرمة
عن ابن عباس قال
قيل لرسول الله ﷺ حين فرغ من بدر عليك العير ليس دونها شيء قال فناداه العباس بن عبد المطلب إنه لا يصلح لك قال ولم قال لأن الله عز وجل إنما وعدك إحدى الطائفتين وقد أعطاك ما وعدك
Its isnad is sahih. Ibn Kathir quoted it in his tafsir, 4:13-14, from the Musnad and said, "A good isnad." Tirmidhi related it, 4:112, through the route of Abdul-Razzaq from Israil, and said, "A hasan hadith." Suyuti also attributed it in Durr Manthur, 2:169, to Firyabi, Ibn Abu Shayba, Abd bin Humayd, Abu Yaala, Ibn Jareer, Ibn Munzir, Ibn Abu Hatim, Tabarani, Abu Shaykh, and Ibn Mardawayh.So Abbas called out to him, Tirmidhi and others add, while he was bound, meaning because he had been taken captive on the day of Badr, as is well known. Al-ir, with a kasrah on the ain, means camels together with their loads. The narration of Abdul-Razzaq will come later at 2875, and the narration of Yahya bin Adam at 3003.
