The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "These requests are scratches with which one of you scrapes his own face." Ibn Jafar's wording was, "Lacerations with which a man tears his face, except when one asks a person of authority or asks out of unavoidable necessity."

قال رسول الله ﷺ إن هذه المسائل كد يكد بها أحدكم وجهه وقال ابن جعفر كدوح يكدح بها الرجل إلا أن يسأل ذا سلطان أو في أمر لا بد منه
