The Prophet ﷺ stood and delivered a sermon in which he forbade the use of gourd containers and vessels coated with pitch.
حدثنا عبد الله حدثنا أحمد بن جميل حدثنا ابن المبارك مثله حدثنا خلف بن هشام وعبد الواحد بن غياث قالا حدثنا أبو عوانة عن الأسود بن قيس عن ثعلبة عن سمرة عن النبي ﷺ مثله
[Shakir: 20063] Its chain of transmission is hasan. Ahmad bin Jareer is a mistake, its correct form being Ahmad bin Jameel Marwazi Abu Yusuf, whom Ahmad, Abu Hatim, and Ibn Main approved of. Others said there is doubt about him, because he learned from Ibn Mubarak while he was young, and he used to say, "I would listen to him while I was young, looking at the sparrows."[Shakir: 20064] Its chain of transmission is sahih.
