The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to observe two pauses of silence, one when he began the prayer, and another when he finished reciting the second surah, just before bowing.This was mentioned to Imran bin Husayn, who said, "Samura is mistaken."So they wrote about the matter to Ubayy bin Kaab in Madinah, and he replied, "Samura has spoken the truth."

أن رسول الله ﷺ كانت له سكتتان سكتة حين يفتتح الصلاة وسكتة إذا فرغ من السورة الثانية قبل أن يركع فذكر ذلك لعمران بن حصين فقال كذب سمرة فكتب في ذلك إلى المدينة إلى أبي بن كعب فقال صدق سمرة
