The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say, "Sam is the father of the Arabs, Yafith is the father of the Romans, and Ham is the father of the Abyssinians."
قال أبي وحدثنا حسين حدثنا شيبان عن قتادة قال وحدث الحسن
أن رسول الله ﷺ كان يقول سام أبو العرب ويافث أبو الروم وحام أبو الحبش
