The Prophet ﷺ said, "Every boy is held in pledge by his aqiqah, which is to be slaughtered on his seventh day."Bahz added in his narration, "and he is to be smeared with its blood, named, and have his head shaved." Yazid said, "his head shaved."
حدثنا محمد بن جعفر حدثنا سعيد ويزيد قال أخبرنا سعيد وبهز حدثنا همام عن قتادة عن الحسن
عن النبي ﷺ أنه قال كل غلام رهينة بعقيقته تذبح عنه يوم سابعه وقال بهز في حديثه ويدمى ويسمى فيه ويحلق قال يزيد رأسه
Its isnad is sahih. Bukhari narrated it, 9/590, no. 5472, Fath al-Bari, and stated explicitly that Hasan heard from Samura. Abu Dawud, 3/106, no. 2837, Tirmidhi, 4/101, no. 1522, who said, hasan sahih, Nasai, 7/166, no. 4220, and Ibn Majah, 2/1057, no. 3165.
