I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "No man comes to his master and asks him for some surplus he has, only for the master to withhold it from him, except that on the Day of Resurrection a venomous serpent will be summoned for him, licking its lips for the surplus he had withheld."

سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول لا يأتي رجل مولاه فيسأله من فضل هو عنده فيمنعه إياه إلا دعي له يوم القيامة شجاع يتلمظ فضله الذي منعه
