A man from the Ansar freed six of his slaves at the time of his death, and he had no other wealth besides them. When the Prophet ﷺ heard of this, he said, "I was about to refuse to perform the funeral prayer over him."He then called for the slaves and divided them into three groups, freeing two and keeping four in bondage.
حدثنا هشيم أخبرنا منصور عن الحسن
أن رجلا من الأنصار أعتق ستة مملوكين له عند موته وليس له مال غيرهم فبلغ ذلك النبي ﷺ فقال لقد هممت أن لا أصلي عليه قال ثم دعا بالرقيق فجزأهم ثلاثة أجزاء فأعتق اثنين وأرق أربعة
