Its chain of transmission is sahih. Khalid bin Rabah al-Huthali, Abu Fadl al-Basri, al-Qattan said about him that he was reliable and a master of Arabic. Abu Hatim deemed him sound, and Ibn Adi approved of him. Ibn Hibban was inconsistent in his assessment of him.Abu Sawar is al-Adawi. It is said his name was Hassan bin Hurayth, and he is trustworthy, his hadith appearing in the Sahihayn.This hadith was narrated by Bukhari, 10/521, number 6117, in Fath al-Bari, in the Book of Manners, chapter on Modesty, and by Muslim, 1/64, number 37, in the Book of Faith, chapter on the number of Shuab al-Iman, and by Abu Dawud, similar to Bukhari, 2/254, number 4796.
