Yunus Harithi, and this is the wording of Abdul-Samad's narration, said, "I wished I could meet one of the companions of Muhammad ﷺ who would tell me about the Khawarij."He continued, "I met Abu Barzah among a group of the companions of Muhammad ﷺ and said to him, 'Tell me something you heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about the Khawarij.'"Abu Barzah replied, "I will tell you of something my own ears heard and my own eyes saw. Some gold coins were brought to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he began distributing them. Nearby stood a man with closely cropped hair, dark-skinned or black, the mark of prostration between his eyes, wearing two white garments. He kept approaching from the Prophet's right side, presenting himself, but the Prophet ﷺ gave him nothing.The man said, 'Muhammad, you have not been just in this distribution today.'The Prophet ﷺ became extremely angry, then said, 'By Allah, you will not find anyone after me more just toward you than I am,' repeating it three times.Then he said, 'Some men will emerge from the direction of the east. This man was of their type. Their appearance is like this. They will recite the Quran, but it will not pass beyond their throats. They will pass out of the religion as an arrow passes through its target, and they will not return to it. Their distinguishing mark is shaving their heads. They will keep emerging until the last of them comes out with the Dajjal. When you encounter them, kill them. They are the worst of creation and creatures.'"
حدثنا عبد الصمد ويونس قالا ثنا حماد يعني ابن سلمة عن الأزرق بن قيس أن
يونس الحارثي وهذا حديث عبد الصمد قال ليت أني رأيت رجلا من أصحاب محمد ﷺ يحدثني عن الخوارج قال فلقيت أبا برزة في نفر من أصحاب محمد ﷺ فقلت حدثني شيئا سمعته من رسول الله ﷺ في الخوارج قال أحدثكم بشيء قد سمعته أذناي ورأته عيناي أتي رسول الله ﷺ بدنانير فقسمها وثم رجل مطموم الشعر آدم أو أسود بين عينيه أثر السجود عليه ثوبان أبيضان فجعل يأتيه من قبل يمينه ويتعرض له فلم يعطه شيئا قال يا محمد ما عدلت اليوم في القسمة فغضب غضبا شديدا ثم قال والله لا تجدون بعدي أحدا أعدل عليكم مني ثلاث مرات ثم قال يخرج من قبل المشرق رجال كان هذا منهم هديهم هكذا يقرءون القرآن لا يجاوز تراقيهم يمرقون من الدين كما يمرق السهم من الرمية ثم لا يرجعون فيه سيماهم التحليق لا يزالون يخرجون حتى يخرج آخرهم مع الدجال فإذا لقيتموهم فاقتلوهم هم شر الخلق والخليقة
