Abu Barza reported,

I killed Abdul-Uzza bin Khatal while he was clinging to the covering of the Kaaba, for on the day Makkah was conquered the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had said, "The people are safe, except for Abdul-Uzza bin Khatal."

قال وقتلت عبد العزى بن خطل وهو متعلق بستر الكعبة وقال رسول الله ﷺ يوم فتح مكة الناس آمنون غير عبد العزى بن خطل
