The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was on one of his military campaigns. When he had finished fighting, he asked, "Do you find anyone missing?"They replied, "Messenger of Allah, we are missing so-and-so and so-and-so."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "But I find Julaybib missing. Search for him."They searched and found him beside seven men he had killed, after which they had killed him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came and stood over him and said, "He killed seven, then they killed him. This one is from me and I am from him. He killed seven, then they killed him. This one is from me and I am from him."Then he was lifted up to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, who placed him upon his forearm. He had no bier other than the forearm of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ until he was buried. No washing was mentioned.
حدثنا سليمان بن داود حدثنا حماد بن سلمة عن ثابت البناني عن كنانة بن نعيم العدوي
أن رسول الله ﷺ كان في مغزى له فلما فرغ من القتال قال هل تفقدون من أحد قال فقالوا يا رسول الله نفقد فلانا وفلانا قال رسول الله ﷺ ولكن أفقد جليبيبا فالتمسوه فالتمسوه فوجدوه عند سبعة قد قتلهم ثم قتلوه فجاء رسول الله ﷺ فقام عليه فقال قتل سبعة ثم قتلوه هذا مني وأنا منه قتل سبعة وقتلوه هذا مني وأنا منه فرفع إلى رسول الله ﷺ فوضعه على ساعده فما كان له سرير إلا ساعدي رسول الله ﷺ حتى دفنه وما ذكر غسلا
Its isnad is sahih. Kinana bin Naeem Adawi is trustworthy, and his hadith appears in Muslim, and the hadith was narrated by Muslim in 4/1918, number 2472, in the chapter on the virtues of the companions, in the section on the virtues of Julaybib. Ibn Hibban also narrated it, 563, number 2269, and mentioned the story of his proposal and marriage. Bayhaqi also narrated it, 4/21. Haythami said, 9/367, its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
