The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite between sixty and a hundred verses in the morning prayer.
حدثنا يزيد بن هارون أخبرنا سليمان التيمي عن سيار أبي المنهال
أن رسول الله ﷺ كان يقرأ في صلاة الغداة بالستين إلى المائة
Its isnad is sahih, its narrators are trustworthy and well-known figures. Bukhari narrated the hadith, 26/2, no. 547, in the Book of Prayer Times. Muslim also narrated it in the Book of Prayer, 1/338, no. 461, in the chapter on the desirability of praying the dawn prayer early. Nasai narrated it, 2/157, in the Book of the Opening of Prayer, on reciting sixty verses in the dawn prayer. Ibn Majah narrated it, 1/268, no. 818, and Darimi narrated it, 1/298, in the Book of Prayer, on the length of recitation in Fajr.
