I heard a man, whom he described as having been a companion of Ibn Abbas, say that Abu Musa wrote to Ibn Abbas, "You are a man of standing among the people of your time. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said that among the Children of Israil, if any of them was touched by urine, he would cut it off with scissors. And the Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by a soft patch of ground and urinated there, saying, 'When one of you urinates, let him seek out a soft spot for his urine.'"
حدثنا وكيع قال ثنا شعبة
سمعت رجلا وصفه كان يكون مع ابن عباس قال كتب أبو موسى إلى ابن عباس إنك رجل من أهل زمانك وإن رسول الله ﷺ قال إن بني إسرائيل كان أحدهم إذا أصابه الشيء من البول قرضه بالمقاريض وإن رسول الله ﷺ مر على دمث يعني مكان لين فبال فيه وقال إذا بال أحدكم فليرتد لبوله
