The Prophet ﷺ mentioned the plague and said, "It is a piercing from your enemies among the jinn, and it is martyrdom for the Muslim."
حدثنا بكر بن عيسى قال ثنا أبو عوانة عن أبي بلج قال حدثناه أبو بكر بن أبي موسى الأشعري
أن النبي ﷺ ذكر الطاعون فقال وخز من أعدائكم من الجن وهي شهادة المسلم
Its isnad is sahih. Abu Balj is Fazari, Yahya bin Salim, and he is trustworthy, with his hadith found in the Sunan works. Hakim graded the hadith sahih (1/50), and Dhahabi agreed with him, as did Haythami (2/311), who said, "Ahmad narrated it through several isnads, some of whose men are the men of the Sahih."
