A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "Messenger of Allah, what do you say about a man who loves a people but has not yet caught up with them?"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "A person will be with those whom he loves."My father said, this is how Waki narrated it to us, from Sufyan, from Amash, from Shaqiq, from Abu Musa, and Muhammad bin Ubayd also narrated it from Abu Musa.

أتى النبي ﷺ رجل فقال يا رسول الله أرأيت رجلا أحب قوما ولما يلحق بهم فقال رسول الله ﷺ المرء مع من أحب قال أبي وكذا حدثناه وكيع عن سفيان عن الأعمش عن شقيق عن أبي موسى ومحمد بن عبيد أيضا عن أبي موسى
