Abu Musa Ashari reported,

The Prophet ﷺ used to be guarded by his Companions. One night I got up and did not find him in his sleeping place, and I was overcome with worry over what might have happened. I went to look for him, and there I found Muaz, who had experienced the same thing I had.Then we heard a sound like the humming of a millstone, so we both stopped where we were. The Prophet ﷺ came toward us from the direction of the sound and said, "Do you know where I have been and what I was doing? A messenger came to me from my Lord and gave me the choice between half of my nation entering Paradise or intercession, so I chose intercession."They said, "Messenger of Allah, ask Allah to include us in your intercession."He replied, "You and whoever dies not associating anything with Allah are included in my intercession."

أن النبي ﷺ كان يحرسه أصحابه فقمت ذات ليلة فلم أره في منامه فأخذني ما قدم وما حدث فذهبت أنظر فإذا أنا بمعاذ قد لقي الذي لقيت فسمعنا صوتا مثل هزيز الرحا فوقفا على مكانهما فجاء النبي ﷺ من قبل الصوت فقال هل تدرون أين كنت وفيم كنت أتاني آت من ربي عز وجل فخيرني بين أن يدخل نصف أمتي الجنة وبين الشفاعة فاخترت الشفاعة فقالا يا رسول الله ادع الله عز وجل أن يجعلنا في شفاعتك فقال أنتم ومن مات لا يشرك بالله شيئا في شفاعتي
