We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a journey when we came upon a valley, and he mentioned how awe-inspiring it was. The people began crying out the takbir and tahlil, raising their voices.The Prophet ﷺ said, "People, go easy on yourselves. You are not calling upon someone deaf or absent. He is with you."
حدثنا وكيع عن سفيان عن عاصم يعني الأحول عن أبي عثمان
كنا مع رسول الله ﷺ في سفر فأشرفنا على واد فذكر من هوله فجعل الناس يكبرون ويهللون فقال النبي ﷺ أيها الناس اربعوا على أنفسكم ورفعوا أصواتهم فقال أيها الناس إنكم لا تدعون أصم ولا غائبا إنه معكم
Its isnad is sahih. Bukhari narrated it, 11/500, no. 6610, in the chapter on divine decree, "There is no power nor strength except with Allah," and Muslim, 4/2076, no. 2704, in the chapter on remembrance and supplication, and Abu Dawud, 2/87, no. 1526.
