The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was inspecting horses one day, and Uyayna bin Hisn bin Badr al-Fazari was with him.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him, "I am more knowledgeable about horses than you."Uyayna replied, "And I am more knowledgeable about men than you."The Prophet ﷺ asked him, "How is that?"Uyayna said, "The best of men are those who carry their swords on their shoulders, place their spears on the withers of their horses, and wear striped cloaks. They are the people of Najd."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "You have spoken falsely. Rather, the best of men are the men of Yemen. Faith is Yemeni, extending to Lakhm, Judham, Amila, and the eaten ones of Himyar. Their eaten are better than those who eat them. Hadramawt is better than the tribe of Harith. One tribe is better than another, and one tribe is worse than another. By Allah, I do not care if both Harith tribes perish. May Allah curse the four kings, Jamda, Mikhwas, Mishrakh, and Abda, and their sister Umarrada."Then he said, "My Lord commanded me to curse Quraysh twice, so I cursed them. Then He commanded me to pray for them, so I prayed for them twice."Then he said, "Usayya disobeyed Allah and His Messenger, except for Qays, Jadah, and Usayya."Then he said, "Aslam, Ghifar, Mazina, and those mixed with them from Juhayna are better in the sight of Allah
on the Day of Resurrection than Banu Asad, Tamim, Ghatafan, and Hawazin."Then he said, "The worst two tribes among the Arabs are Najran and Banu Taghlib. The tribes most numerous in Paradise are Madhhij and the eaten ones."Abu Mughira said that Safwan said, "Himyar, Himyar, the eaten ones are better than those who ate them," meaning that those who passed are better than those who remain.
