Abdullah bin Abu Awfa reported,

We were with the Prophet ﷺ on a journey when he said to a man, "Dismount and prepare a drink for us by mixing it."Sufyan once said in his narration that the man replied, "Messenger of Allah..."The Prophet ﷺ said, "Mix the drink."The man said again, "Messenger of Allah..."The Prophet ﷺ said, "Mix the drink."So the man mixed it, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ drank. After he drank, he gestured with his hand toward the east and said, "When you see night approaching from this direction, the fasting person has broken his fast."

حدثنا سفيان عن أبي إسحاق الشيباني قال سمعت

عبد الله بن أبي أوفى قال

كنا مع النبي ﷺ في سفر فقال لرجل انزل فاجدح لنا وقال سفيان مرة يا رسول الله قال اجدح قال يا رسول الله قال اجدح فجدح فشرب فلما شرب رسول الله ﷺ أومأ بيده نحو الليل إذا رأيتم الليل قد أقبل من هاهنا فقد أفطر الصائم
