Ibn Huzaifa reported,

I used to relate a hadith about Adi bin Hatim, so I said to myself, "Adi is here in a corner of Kufa. I should go to him, so that I may be the one who hears it directly from him."So I went to him and said, "I used to relate a hadith about you, and I wanted to be the one who hears it directly from you."He said, "When Allah sent the Prophet ﷺ, I fled from him until I reached the furthest land of the Muslims, near the territory of the Romans. Then I came to dislike the place I was in even more than I had disliked the place I came from. I said to myself, 'Let me go to this man. By Allah, if he is truthful, I will hear from him directly, and if he is a liar, he cannot harm me.'So I came to him, and the people noticed me and were saying, 'Adi bin Hatim, Adi bin Hatim,'" he repeated this three times."He said to me, 'Adi bin Hatim, accept Islam and you will be safe.'I said, 'I follow a religion already.'He said, 'Adi bin Hatim, accept Islam and you will be safe.'I said, 'I follow a religion already.'He said this three times. Then he said, 'I know your religion better than you do.'I said, 'You know my religion better than I do?'He said, 'Yes.' Muhammad mentioned the Rakusiyyah, and a word he tried to recall but then left off. He said, 'Are you not the chief of your people?'I said, 'Yes.'He said, 'Indeed, taking a quarter of the spoils is not lawful in your religion.' When he said this, I felt humbled before him. He said, 'I see that what holds you back is the poverty you observe in those around me, and the fact that the people are united against us. Do you know of a place called Hirah?'I said, 'I have heard of it but never been there.'He said, 'It will not be long before a woman will travel from there without any protector and circumambulate the Kaabah.'" Yazid bin Harun said "without protection" (jawr), while Yunus reported from Hammad "without a permit" (jawaz). Then he returned to the hadith of Adi bin Hatim. "...and circumambulate the Kaabah. And it will not be long before the treasures of Kisra bin Hurmuz will be opened."I said, "Kisra bin Hurmuz?"He said, "Kisra bin Hurmuz."I said, "Kisra bin Hurmuz?"He said, "Kisra bin Hurmuz." Three times. "And it will not be long before a man will go about seeking someone to accept his charity, but he will find no one to take it."Adi said, "I have already seen two of these come to pass. I have seen the woman travel from Hirah without any protector and circumambulate the Kaabah, and I was among the cavalry that raided," and Yunus said, narrating from Hammad, "that raided al-Madain. And by Allah, the third will surely come to pass, for it is the speech of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ who told it to me."

حدثنا محمد بن أبي عدي عن ابن عون عن محمد بن سيرين

عن ابن حذيفة قال

كنت أحدث حديثا عن عدي بن حاتم فقلت هذا عدي في ناحية الكوفة فلو أتيته فكنت أنا الذي أسمعه منه فأتيته فقلت إني كنت أحدث عنك حديثا فأردت أن أكون أنا الذي أسمعه منك قال لما بعث الله عز وجل النبي ﷺ فررت منه حتى كنت في أقصى أرض المسلمين مما يلي الروم قال فكرهت مكاني الذي أنا فيه حتى كنت له أشد كراهية له مني من حيث جئت قال قلت لآتين هذا الرجل فوالله إن كان صادقا فلأسمعن منه وإن كان كاذبا ما هو بضائري قال فأتيته واستشرفني الناس وقالوا عدي بن حاتم عدي بن حاتم قال أظنه قال ثلاث مرار قال فقال لي يا عدي بن حاتم أسلم تسلم قال قلت إني من أهل دين قال يا عدي بن حاتم أسلم تسلم قال قلت إني من أهل دين قالها ثلاثا قال أنا أعلم بدينك منك قال قلت أنت أعلم بديني مني قال نعم قال أليس ترأس قومك قال قلت بلى قال فذكر محمد الركوسية قال كلمة التمسها يقيمها فتركها قال فإنه لا يحل في دينك المرباع قال فلما قالها تواضعت مني هنية قال وإني قد أرى أن مما يمنعك خصاصة تراها ممن حولي وإن الناس علينا ألبا واحدا هل تعلم مكان الحيرة قال قلت قد سمعت بها ولم آتها قال لتوشكن الظعينة أن تخرج منها بغير جوار حتى تطوف قال يزيد بن هارون جور وقال يونس عن حماد جواز ثم رجع إلى حديث عدي بن حاتم حتى تطوف بالكعبة ولتوشكن كنوز كسرى بن هرمز أن تفتح قال قلت كسرى بن هرمز قال كسرى بن هرمز قال قلت كسرى بن هرمز قال كسرى بن هرمز ثلاث مرات وليوشكن أن يبتغي من يقبل ماله منه صدقة فلا يجد قال فلقد رأيت ثنتين قد رأيت الظعينة تخرج من الحيرة بغير جوار حتى تطوف بالكعبة وكنت في الخيل التي غارت وقال يونس عن حماد أغارت على المدائن وايم الله لتكونن الثالثة إنه لحديث رسول الله ﷺ حدثنيه
