A Jewish man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "Abu Qasim, do you not claim that the people of paradise eat and drink there?" He had said to his companions, "If he affirms this to me, I will defeat him in argument."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "Yes indeed, by the One in whose hand is my soul. Each of them will be given the strength of a hundred men in eating, drinking, desire, and intercourse."The Jewish man said to him, "But one who eats and drinks must relieve himself."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ answered, "The relief of one of them will be a sweat that flows from their skin like the fragrance of musk, and at once the belly is slim again."
حدثنا أبو معاوية حدثنا الأعمش عن ثمامة بن عقبة
أتى النبي ﷺ رجل من اليهود فقال يا أبا القاسم ألست تزعم أن أهل الجنة يأكلون فيها ويشربون وقال لأصحابه إن أقر لي بهذه خصمته قال فقال رسول الله ﷺ بلى والذي نفسي بيده إن أحدهم ليعطى قوة مائة رجل في المطعم والمشرب والشهوة والجماع قال فقال له اليهودي فإن الذي يأكل ويشرب تكون له الحاجة قال فقال رسول الله ﷺ حاجة أحدهم عرق يفيض من جلودهم مثل ريح المسك فإذا البطن قد ضمر
Its isnad is sahih. Thumamah bin Uqbah al-Muhallami is trustworthy, and Bukhari narrated from him in al-Adab. Tirmidhi narrated the hadith, 4/677, no. 2536, in the chapter on the description of Hell, what has been said about the description of the people of Paradise, as did Ibn Hibban, 655, no. 2637 (Mawarid), and Haythami said, 10/416, "The narrators of Ahmad are the narrators of the Sahih, except for Thumamah bin Uqbah, and he is trustworthy."
