I pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to listen and obey, and to give sincere counsel to every Muslim.Whenever Jareer bought something and found it more valuable to him than the price he had paid, he would say to the seller, "You should know, by Allah, that what we have taken is more pleasing to us than what we gave you." He intended by this to fulfill his pledge.
حدثنا إسماعيل أخبرنا يونس عن عمرو بن سعيد عن أبي زرعة بن عمرو بن جرير قال
بايعت رسول الله ﷺ على السمع والطاعة وعلى أن أنصح لكل مسلم قال وكان جرير إذا اشترى الشيء وكان أعجب إليه من ثمنه قال لصاحبه تعلمن والله لما أخذنا أحب إلينا مما أعطيناك كأنه يريد بذلك الوفاء
