Mughira bin Shibl reported,

Jareer said, "When I drew near to Madinah, I made my mount kneel down, then opened my travel bag, put on my fine garments, and entered the mosque. The Prophet ﷺ was delivering a sermon, and the people fixed their gazes upon me."He continued, "I said to the man sitting beside me, 'Abdullah, did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say anything about me?'He replied, 'Yes, he mentioned you in the best of terms. While he was giving his sermon, your matter came up, and he said, "There shall enter upon you through this mountain pass one of the best men of Yemen. Indeed, upon his face is the touch of an angel."'"Jareer said, "So I praised Allah ."

عن المغيرة بن شبل قال

قال جرير لما دنوت من المدينة أنخت راحلتي ثم حللت عيبتي ثم لبست حلتي ثم دخلت المسجد فإذا النبي ﷺ يخطب فرماني الناس بالحدق قال فقلت لجليسي يا عبد الله هل ذكر رسول الله ﷺ من أمري شيئا قال نعم ذكرك بأحسن الذكر بينما هو يخطب إذ عرض له في خطبته فقال إنه سيدخل عليكم من هذا الفج من خير ذي يمن ألا وإن على وجهه مسحة ملك قال جرير فحمدت الله عز وجل
