Jareer reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent me to Yemen, where I met two men, Dhu Kala and Dhu Amr. I told them something of the news of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.Then we set out, and a group of riders appeared before us coming from the direction of Madinah. We asked them for news, and they said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ has passed away, Abu Bakr has been appointed as successor, and the people are in good order."The two men said to me, "Inform your companion that we will come to him." So they returned.Then I met Dhu Amr again, and he said to me, "Jareer, you will continue to be in a state of well-being so long as, when one ruler dies, you take counsel and appoint another. But once leadership is seized by the sword, you will become angry like kings and content like kings."

عن جرير قال

بعثني رسول الله ﷺ إلى اليمن فلقيت بها رجلين ذا كلاع وذا عمرو قال وأخبرتهما شيئا من خبر رسول الله ﷺ قال ثم أقبلنا فإذا قد رفع لنا ركب من قبل المدينة قال فسألناهم ما الخبر قال فقالوا قبض رسول الله ﷺ واستخلف أبو بكر رضي الله عنه والناس صالحون قال فقال لي أخبر صاحبك قال فرجعا ثم لقيت ذا عمرو فقال لي يا جرير إنكم لن تزالوا بخير ما إذا هلك أمير ثم تأمرتم في آخر فإذا كانت بالسيف غضبتم غضب الملوك ورضيتم رضا الملوك
