The Messenger of Allah ﷺ only walked briskly around the Kaabah to show the polytheists his strength.
حدثنا سفيان عن عمرو عن عطاء
إنما رمل رسول الله ﷺ حول الكعبة ليري المشركين قوته
Its isnad is sahih. Bukhari and Muslim and others narrated it at greater length. See Muntaqa 2531.
