I was with Abu Jurayy at al-Bawarij in the Sawad. He went over the cattle and noticed a cow he did not recognize.He asked, "What is this cow?"Someone replied, "It is a cow that joined the herd."He ordered it to be driven away, and it was driven off until it disappeared from sight.Then he said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'None shelters a stray animal except one who has himself gone astray.'"
حدثنا يحيى بن سعيد عن أبي حيان قال حدثني الضحاك خال المنذر بن جرير عن منذر بن جرير
كنت مع أبي جرير بالبواريج في السواد فراجعت البقر فرأى بقرة أنكرها فقال ما هذه البقرة قال بقرة لحقت بالبقر فأمر بها فطردت حتى توارت ثم قال سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول لا يؤوي الضالة إلا ضال
