Jareer bin Abdullah reported,

A man from the Ansar came to the Prophet ﷺ with a pouch of gold that filled the space between his fingers and said, "This is for the sake of Allah ."Then Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him, stood up and others gave, and he too gave. Then Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, stood up and others gave, and he too gave. Then the Muhajirun stood up and gave.The face of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ lit up until I could see the radiance on his cheeks, then he said, "Whoever introduces a good practice in Islam that is acted upon after him will have a reward equal to that of those who act upon it, without diminishing anything from their rewards. And whoever introduces an evil practice in Islam that is acted upon after him will bear a burden equal to that of those who act upon it, without diminishing anything from their burdens."

أن رجلا من الأنصار جاء إلى النبي ﷺ بصرة من ذهب تملأ ما بين أصابعه فقال هذه في سبيل الله عز وجل ثم قام أبو بكر رضي الله تعالى عنه فأعطوا فأعطى ثم قام عمر رضي الله تعالى عنه فأعطوا فأعطى ثم قام المهاجرون فأعطوا قال فأشرق وجه رسول الله ﷺ حتى رأيت الإشراق في وجنتيه ثم قال من سن سنة صالحة في الإسلام فعمل بها بعده كان له مثل أجورهم من غير أن ينتقص من أجورهم شيء ومن سن في الإسلام سنة سيئة فعمل بها بعده كان عليه مثل أوزارهم من غير أن ينتقص من أوزارهم شيء
